As I like to do on the blog from time-to-time I am mixing in a restaurant review.

Becky and I had a Mother’s Day date night at Halls Chop House on King St. (yes, we left the kids with a sitter on Mother’s Day—they were in bed)

Halls is on the upper end of King St, that has seen a major revitalization over the past 5 years, and is in the middle of a lot of bars and other restaurants. The interior of Halls is warm, elegant and regal.

Becky started with the crab cake for an app and I had the Halls Chop House salad – both were really good.

For dinner we both had petite filets, with a large side order of some of the best lobster mac and cheese I have ever had, maybe the best mac and cheese ever. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the house made Worcestershire sauce was a perfect pairing for the steaks.

One of my other favorite things about Halls is the owners are always out in front and very engaging — some of the best customer service of any restaurant in Charleston. If you are looking for an upscale place to eat when you visit, and like steaks, I highly recommend Halls.
