Food and Wine Ticket Kick Off Party

Becky and I just wrapped up a great time at the Charleston Food and Wine ticket launch party for the upcoming 2012 festival. I will have to say this was one of the better food and wine deals we have gotten in on in a while. The event was held at the Charleston Harbor Resort at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant The Harbor Resort was a great backdrop for the party. For those of you not familiar with the Resort, it overlooks Charleston Harbor and on out to the Atlantic Ocean. There had to be 15 or more booths set-up, from some of my Charleston favorites, like FIG and Halls. Great assortment of food and some really nice wine selections. Enjoyed the Pinot from Washington State the most. Charleston is really making a name for itself with food. Tickets for the March 2012 event are on sale now, but tickets are going...

Husk Restaurant – Charleston, SC

More positive news for the white hot dining scene in Charleston, SC. Bon Appetite Magazine just came out with their top-10 new restaurants for this year and Charleston’s own Husk knocked down the top rank. Husk is on Queen St in downtown Charleston. The food is “southern” with a twist. Becky and I will have to try Husk again. We went right after they opened and they were working out the kinks — sounds like they worked them out. Congrats to Sean Brock and the crew at Husk. Making Charleston proud. Read the write up here...

101 Venning St. Old Village

One of my personal favorite spots in Mt. Pleasant is the Old Village. Many of the homes in this area pre-date the Revolutionary War. The Old Village is neatly positioned with Charleston Harbor, Sullivan’s Island and Shem Creek flanking it on three sides Today’s home I am reviewing is for the buyer who wants the best-of-the-best. 101 Venning St is a little over 5,000 sqft, 5 bedrooms and 5 ½ baths. The home was built in 2007 and sits on over a half acre of harbor front real estate. Everything in the home it top-of-the-line. The outdoor area boast a mineral pool, wrap around porches, deep water dock on Charleston Harbor and an outdoor kitchen. The sellers are presently asking – $6,800,000 If you like to schedule a tour of this home, please call me, Bob at 843-345-6074. View Larger...
